PEPPER at Les Plénières de la Fédération de Recherche Hydrogène du CNRS

Published: 11. December 2025

Organised by the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), Les Plénières de la Fédération de Recherche Hydrogène du CNRS is the annual plenary meeting of the CNRS Hydrogen Research Federation.

The event brings together the French hydrogen research community to share the latest progress in hydrogen production, discuss emerging challenges and strengthen collaboration within the field.

PEPPER was represented at the 5th FRH2 Plenary Meeting, held from 17–21 November 2025 in Annecy, France. At the event, Rémi Costa (DLR) delivered a project pitch presenting PEPPER's approach to advancing proton-conducting ceramic electrolysis cell (PCCEL) technology for efficient and scalable clean hydrogen production.

The presentation outlined the current state of the art in PCCEL stack designs, their limitations, and addressed PEPPER’s answer to these challenges - development of high-performance planar cells, innovative manufacturing approaches, numerical modelling, and stack design strategies to support future industrial deployment.

The PEPPER consortium thanks CNRS for organising the event and giving the PEPPER team the opportunity to introduce the project to the french hydrogen community.
