Meet PEPPER at Hannover Messe: discover PCCEL stack technology up close
Published: 13. April 2026
The PEPPER project will be present at Hannover Messe, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore its innovative approach to hydrogen production.
At the booth of the DLR, Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics booth (Hall 11, E22), attendees will be able to discover the PEPPER project and the proton-conducting ceramic electrolysis cells (PCCELs) -a promising technology designed to produce hydrogen efficiently at intermediate temperatures. Operating between 400 and 600 °C, PCCELs enable reduced electricity consumption by utilising heat and offer high hydrogen purity thanks to the separation of production streams.
What you can experience at the PEPPER stand
A highlight of the stand will be a visual showcase of a planar PCCEL stack, illustrating how individual electrolysis cells are assembled into a multi-layer configuration.
Designed as an intuitive display, the showcase helps visitors better understand how PCCEL technology works and how it can be implemented in real-world systems.
Visitors will have the opportunity to:
• Explore the PCCEL stack showcase
• Grab a leaflet with key insights into the project
• Discuss directly with experts involved in the development
