PEPPER & Innovation News Network

Published: 2. April 2026

We are pleased to see PEPPER featured by Innovation News Network, where we share more about the background and ideas that shaped PEPPER, as well as our ambitions.

Producing green hydrogen efficiently at scale remains a key challenge for the energy transition.

At PEPPER, we are exploring an innovative approach to address this:
➡️ Proton-conducting ceramic electrolysis cells (PCCELs) operating at intermediate temperatures.

Why does this matter?
Because part of the energy input comes from heat instead of electricity, opening the door to:

  • Lower energy consumption
  • Easier integration with industrial processes
  • More cost-effective hydrogen production

By combining advanced materials, innovative cell design, and scalable manufacturing, PEPPER aims to move this technology closer to real-world deployment.
