PEPPER project kicks off in Stuttgart

Published: 9. April 2025

On February 3–4, the PEPPER project officially launched with a hybrid kick-off meeting hosted in Stuttgart, Germany. Representatives from all eight consortium partners – including DLR, CEA, CNRS, AVL, DTU, EIFER, Elcogen, and Grant Garant – came together to set the stage for the project’s shared mission: advancing next-generation planar proton-conducting electrolysis cells (PCCEL).
The meeting was a starting point for PEPPER’s ambitious goals – developing scalable, efficient planar PCCEL technologies designed to operate at 600°C with faradaic efficiency above 90%, and defining a clear pathway to industrial implementation.
During the two-days event, partners presented the scope and timelines of their respective work packages, discussed coordination strategies, and established frameworks for effective communication and dissemination.
The project team looks forward to continued collaboration, with the next in-person consortium meeting scheduled to take place in Montpellier in the summer of 2025.
